The Antares Militia was the defending force of Antares.[1]

History[edit]

Clan Invasion[edit]

The planet of Antares was of minor strategic importance to the Federated Commonwealth so it was lightly defended, with only the militia battalion of the Antares Militia and a series of fortifications that the locals had constructed. Clan Jade Falcon's Star League records named Antares as the site of an SLDF replenishment and resupply base and so the Falcon Khans ordered the base to be taken at all costs. Gyrfalcon Galaxy landed on Antares with heavy aerospace support that destroyed the militia's fighters on the ground. Subsequent attack by land forces took Antares City despite the militia's valiant efforts.

But the town of Alba proved harder to take. Unknown to its inhabitants Alba was almost on top of the old Star League base and also contained the plant's largest purification plant which made the Falcons initially reluctant to risk damaging the water purifiers using massive air strikes. This led to land assaults which inflicted severe casualties, especially on the Second Falcon Jaegers. When Khan Crichell was informed that replacements for the purifying plants could be delivered from Clan Worlds in two-and-a-half months, orders were given for a full and complete assault. Fighters bombed the town flat and won the day. The Militia survivors were stunned to watch Jade Falcon engineers unearth the huge Star League base beneath their town.[1]
