Description[edit]
The sequel to the Wolf Clan Sourcebook and written from the perspective of an 3053 internal ComStar document, the Jade Falcon Sourcebook details the history and actions of Clan Jade Falcon from the earliest days of the Clans to that of the Truce of Tukayyid, also detailing the Falcon's post-Tukayyid touman as well as five new Second-Line BattleMechs.
From the back cover[edit]
“ | From the unknown regions of the Periphery, they came to conquer.
When they first arrived in the Federated Commonwealth, no one knew who these mysterious invaders were. Soon, Clan Jade Falcon became a name to be feared. They seemed completely unstoppable. They piloted strange new 'Mechs. Their armored infantry, nicknamed "Toads" by their stunned opponents, were unlike anything seen before. They nearly killed the heir to the throne. This ComStar document details the history and development of Clan Jade Falcon from their beginnings in the chaos of the Exodus Civil War to the battlefields of Tukayyid. Contains a complete roster of the invading Jade Falcon forces, along with personality profiles of prominent officers. |

Notes[edit]
- Large portions of the information contained in this book have been superseded, changed and altered by later sources, most notably Anastasius Focht's introduction at the start of the book claims much of the information in it comes from the crew of the captured Explorer Corps vessel Outbound Light after their return to the Inner Sphere, while later sources now indicate they never returned or were heard from again.
- The four 'Mechs introduced here received the Technical Readout treatment with Technical Readout: 3055 and its successors.
- In the write-up for the first wave of attacks, it is mentioned that the Jade Falcons had attacked Alkalurops where they fought the Alkalurops Militia and the combined arms "Bouncers Regiment" mercenary unit. This was obviously in error as Alkalurops is hundreds of light years away from the Clan invasion corridors. Era Report: 3052 clarifies that "Bouncer's Regiment" was listed as the 7th Regiment of the 12th Star Guards mercenary unit and fought the Jade Falcons on Bensinger. The descriptions of the fighting and outcome are similar, and Bensinger, which is situated in the middle of worlds hit in the first wave, is not mentioned in this sourcebook so it apparently was somehow mixed up with Alkalurops.
- Numerous DropShips mentioned in the Clan Jade Falcon TOE within the book are classified as Union or Overlord class. According to an official ruling by Ray "Adrian Gideon" Arrastia, made in the "Ask the Lead Developers" section of the BattleTech Forum which is reserved for official rulings, these can be assumed to be Union-C and Overlord-C class instead. (The Clan DropShip classes had not yet been written into canon when this sourcebook was written.)
