Mike "Miken" Nielsen is a freelance artist and illustrator who produced art for a number of BattleTech, Shadowrun, w:Earthdawn titles, but is most notably recalled as the artist and creator of VOR: The Maelstrom.
Hired by FASA right out of high school, Nielsen remained at the company for 11 years, producing work for all its games and progressing from art duties to game designer, conceiving VOR: The Malestrom and pitching to it FASA. Nielsen retained the rights to VOR after FASA's closure and has made a number of efforts to revive the game.
