Field Manual: Mercenaries is the third release in the Field Manuals series and contains detailed information about various mercenary units, their history, composition, tactics and employer status as of 1 October 3059. It includes additional rules for BattleTech and MechWarrior, Second Edition, as well as new battle armor.
In addition, the sourcebook provides rules for how to run your very own mercenary outfit, from creation to combat to administration. To this end, it provides a fictional treatment to Outreach and the Outreach Mercenary Training Command, as well as common mercenary employers, markets, and contract types. In the rules section, players find rules concerning creating their own mercenary unit from scratch, developing supporting assets, figuring out logistics, negotiating their contracts, and determining their Dragoon Rating.
