The Malibu system is the location of at least one habitable world or construct, and as of June 3152 was located in the Clan Hell's Horses Occupation Zone.[1]

Age of War[edit]

Malibu was one of four worlds acquired by the Rim Worlds Republic between 2347 and 2366 as an attempt by Arabella Rowe to expand the capabilities of the Republic armed forces; Malibu was intended to be a "hedgehog", a giant fortified firebase that Republican forces could use to slow the advance of any invading force.[2]

Reunification War[edit]

By the end of the Age of War Malibu was a part of the Apollo Province of the Rim Worlds Republic.[3] and the garrison world for the Third Amaris Dragoons.[40] When the civil war erupted between followers of First Consul Gregory Amaris and supporters of the Rift Republican Army the Third Dragoon remained loyal to Amaris.[41]

The Star League eventually decided to intervene in the civil war in support of Gregory Amaris, and assembled Task Force MAILED FIST to help secure Amaris' control over the Rim Worlds Republic. A multinational force headed by the Star League Defense Force, Task Force MAILED FIST was responsible for executing Operation MAILED FIST, the name given to the military intervention. After a destructive raid on Alarion prompted the SLDF to alter its initial strategy for the campaign, the focus shifted to reducing Rim Worlds Army concentrations throughout the Republic and responsibility for formations such as the Third Dragoons within the Apollo province was given to Battle Group Apollo under the overall command of General Nathan Isaacson.[42]

In 2584 Isaacson deployed the Seventeenth Royal Division - one of three divisions that constituted VI Corps - to secure Malibu and the Third Dragoons;[43] the Seventeenth defeated the outnumbered Third Dragoons and secured control of the world,[41] remaining in place through 2585.[43]

Star League Era[edit]

Malibu was conquered by the Lyran Commonwealth during the 2773-2775 Republic-Commonwealth war.[13]

Clan Invasion[edit]

Malibu was conquered by Clan Jade Falcon during the Third Wave of Operation Revival in June 3050. The 89th Falcon Striker Cluster were confronted by the Malibu Militia four kilometers outside the capital Malibu City, where after just five minutes of combat the defenders were routed. The panicked survivors fled back towards the city, pursued by two Trinaries, whereupon the planetary administrator surrendered the planet. Although considered a coward by both the Clansmen and his own people, it was a decision made to save his planet from any further destruction. Throughout the rest of the invasion Malibu provided the least resistance to Jade Falcon occupation as any other planet.[44]
