Planetary Info[edit]

Hot Springs was best known as the Inner Sphere's notable resort and tourist destination prior to the Clan Invasion. The world was noted for its mineral water.[36] The world is noted for having sizable portion of its people of Black American and African descent from latter half of the twenty-eighth century.[37]

The planet was first settled for its large supplies of mineral and metal ores by mining companies. These companies exported the raw materials to other, more industrialized systems. The mineral-rich waters however led to the tourist industry that made Hot Springs a popular destination. Tectonically active, the planet has two continents that are covered in active volcanoes. The larger continent, Silver Springs, is covered with black ash and occasionally broken up by small plots of jungle or brackish lakes. The smaller continent, Manta Springs, is much less active and home to most of the cities. Boulder, the capital city, is notable for two reasons: Most of it was constructed from black volcanic rock and it is home to the Institute for Advanced Studies in Physical Therapy. The Institute is one of the largest training facilities for physical therapists and other specialists in limb replacement therapy.[1]

Planetary History[edit]

Clan Invasion of 3050[edit]

During the Third Wave of Operation REVIVAL Hot Springs was targeted by Clan Jade Falcon for political reasons. Members of the Von Jankmon Bloodname wanted Hot Springs taken because their founder was born on this world. In June 3050, the Turkina Keshik and the 1st Falcon Strikers struck the planet. Hot Springs' militia, the Hot Springs TMM, were green troops facing elite elements of Clan Jade Falcon. The Falcon forces' first opponents were the Militia's company of aerospace fighters. In the course of the ensuing battle, only a single Falcon aerospace fighter was lost while the entire Militia fighter force was wiped out by the Clan pilots, which included pilots with the Von Jankmon Bloodname.

On the ground, Turkina Keshik bulldozed through the Militia's conventional fighters and VTOLs attempting to defend the planet's spaceport. The Hot Springs TMM was forced back to the planetary capital where they prepared to make their last stand. However, Falcon forces were reluctant to damage the city; to limit damage, Elemental Battle Armor units worked their way through the streets of the capital, destroying the Militia's static defenses. This caused the Militia forces to be routed from the city and the Militia attempted to retreat to the wilds of Hot Springs. However, during the course of the Militia retreat the 1st Falcon Jaegers intercepted the Militia's 'Mech and infantry forces before they could escape. The Jaegers wiped them out.[39]

Lyran Alliance Counterassault of 3064[edit]

During Clan Jade Falcon's offensive of 3064, Lyran Alliance Armed Forces attempting to stop Falcons' incursion, counterinvaded the Occupation Zone. Hot Springs was part of the second prong of this effort. The Lyran forces, led by General Adam Steiner, assaulted the planet on November 21st. Steiner faced off with 5th Battle Cluster led by Star Colonel Diane Anu. She used her forces to tie up the Lyran invaders for two weeks, preventing them from making any further into the OZ. By the second week, the Lyran forces quit the planet to reinforce efforts on Blackjack.[40]
