During the Fourth Succession War, the Third Dieron raided the world of Lyons with orders to wipe out the settlement of New Freedom.[3] On 5 May 3029, the regiment attacked the city, and over the course of two days slaughtered the population. On the 17th, the Kell Hounds mercenary unit arrived and conducted a sneak attack against the Regulars. The Kell Hounds' First Battalion overran the Third's Command HQ, killing the regiment's commander. After realizing that the unit was cut off from its DropShips, the third in command Tai-sa Hiro Akuto surrendered.[4]
