Brant Optin was an officer in the Free Worlds League Navy who later oversaw operations at the Illium Naval Yard.

By 3067, Optin was a retired admiral who was the CEO of Illium Naval Engineering, reporting directly to the League Central Coordination and Command. With the assistance of Word of Blake personnel, he achieved every benchmark laid out for him, producing a line of WarShips at the Illium Naval Yard that became the pride of the FWL's growing fleet.[1]
