Chas Kearns was a MechWarrior with the Northwind Fusiliers during the Dark Age Era.[1]

Personal Appearance[edit]

Kearns had blond hair and green eyes.[1]

History[edit]

Coming from a Northwind family, and initially serving as a reservist for their local militia forces, Kearns had the characteristic Scottish brogue and dashing personality to suit. Trained to operate Combat vehicle for the Northwind militia, after joining Tara Campbell's Highlanders he graduated to a SalvageMech, and then to a BattleMech proper based on his skill and courage under fire. This assignment was however suspected by some of comrades as relating more to his friendship with Rotem Fridberg, another Northwind Fusiliers MechWarrior, rather than pure merit. Regardless of this, Kearns later proved his worth in a number of battles, for both the Highlanders and the Republic of the Sphere.[1]

As of 3132, Kearns was a member of an Assault Lance within the Northwind Fusiliers, commanded by Eriabee Childs. His other Lancemates included Rotem Fridberg and Fabian Domel.[2]

Combat Equipment[edit]

Vehicles[edit]

Kearns was known to have initially piloted a Bellona hover tank.[1]

IndustrialMech[edit]

Kearns later transitioned to a SalvageMech.[1]

BattleMech[edit]

Finally Kearns graduated to a Templar OmniMech, serial number FS515-03C, nicknamed "Callahan's Lament" after a former pilot named Captain Roger Callahan. Initially built for the Federated Suns before the FedCom Civil War, it served in that conflict, as well as the Word of Blake Jihad. During the Jihad its MechWarrior Roger Callahan went AWOL with his unit, joining Stone's Coalition, and becoming a member of Stone's Lament.

Following the Blackout the 'Mech fell into the hands of the Highlanders.[1]
