Cholach is a vegetable grown on the Clan world of Londerholm
Overview
Cholach is a root plant that is considered a grain, grown in the Kerensky Cluster. During the Golden Century it made up a preponderance of the agricultural products on Londerholm, a breadbasket world.

A cholach blight devastated Londerhome crops in the year 2912. Similarly to the Potato Famine, this farm world, which relied largely on a single crop, had its output devastated by disease and was now struggling to just feed itself, let alone export food. When Clan Smoke Jaguar's merchant caste attempted to reduce food exports, the warrior caste overrode their decisions. When civilians seized a shipment of cholach headed off world, the Jaguars responded by seizing the food and then razing the world's spaceport to the ground.
