Das Goldene Zeitalter ("The Golden Age"), also occasionally called the Golden Age Zyklus {sic}, is a series of novels that were published from 2004 onwards by Fantasy Productions as part of their new series of BattleTech novels. They are set in the "golden age" of BattleTech during the Star League era around the year 2600, more than four centuries before the original main storyline.

Within the Golden Age cycle, there is a loosely connected sub-cycle named the Great Game comprising three published books. Additional books by Michael Diel and Carolina Möbis were planned but not yet published when FanPro aborted the new novel series in 2008 due to a licensing disagreement (eventually passing the torch to Ulisses Spiele in 2011 who picked up and continued the novel line).

Further, the second Great Game novel (En Passant) was the supposed to be the first part of the Schattenkrieg ("Shadow War") trilogy which however was not continued beyond this first book. It narrates an undercover agent war between the Federated Suns and the Draconis Combine escalating beyond control and into a shooting war. En Passant ends with a cliffhanger, and the line "To be continued."
