Ethan Epstein was the commanding officer of Epstein's Heavy Battalion of the Sixth Marik Militia during Anton's Revolt.[1]

Force Commander Epstein and the Sixth Marik Militia were stationed on Emris IV in 3014 when the battered Ninth Marik Militia delivered word of Anton Marik's coming invasion. Taking positions around the industrial city of Ivanograd, the Sixth Militia held out against the bulk of Wolf's Dragoons for two weeks before a special unit lead by Lieutenant Natasha Kerensky penetrated the Militia's defensive lines by sneaking through an abandoned drainage tunnel. The intruding Dragoons forces appeared directly behind Epstein's unprepared battalion and the ensuing panic caused a gap to form in the Militia's line that the Dragoons quickly exploited. While the Sixth Militia's other two battalions retreated from Ivanograd in good order, the Dragoons' Alpha Regiment destroyed Epstein's unit and Epstein himself was killed at the controls of his BattleMech.[1]
