History[edit]

Kurst was a native of Liao, born to Capellan parents, who were killed when he was a aged one during the Massacre of Liao in 3111. Fostered with another ethnic Capellan family, he grew up opposed to the Republic of the Sphere, considering them an oppressor of his traditionally Capellan world.

Hoping to gain freedom for his people, he turned to political activism in order to gain access to Republic military training, ultimately being admitted to Bulic's Academy and the Liao Conservatory of Military Arts. Despite being under intense suspicion for his pro-Capellan leanings, he become an able MechWarrior, and was selected to be mentored by pro-Capellan resistance leader and former Warrior House Ijori member Mai Uhn Wa.[1]

Taking a leading role in Wa's Ijori Dè Guāng movement, which Wa had founded in 3128 following a failed uprising, Kurst helped facilitate the liberation of Liao in 3134. This included defeating and killing the Black Paladin Ezekiel Crow, and leading the breakthrough which secured the final victory over the Republic forces of planetary Legate Viktor Ruskoff.[2]

Following these achievements, Kurst joined the reborn Warrior House Ijori, which was formed around his former Ijori Dè Guāng collogues.[3]

BattleMech[edit]

Kurst was known to have piloted a Ti Ts'ang BattleMech, serial number CC403-14B. Initially constructed for the Capellan Confederation, it was captured by the Republic during a Capellan raid after the Massacre of Liao, and later assigned to the Triarii Protectors. Sent with the Triarii Protectors to defend Liao against the Capellan invasion, its MechWarrior defected to the Capellans, and from there it came into Kurst's hands. Kurst retained his 'Mech even after he joined the reborn Warrior House Ijori.[1]
