Description[edit]

Found exclusively in the Draconis Combine the Heavy Riot Infantry, also known as Friendly Persuaders, are a form of police trooper that are employed in crowd control. Used when situation merits their presence, they are deployed to situations from handling rioters to storming criminal hideouts. Riot Infantry are deployed either as foot platoons of 28 troopers or Mechanized platoons of 24 troopers. The Mechanized platoons are rapidly moved to situations by armored cars and carry recoilless rifles with explosive and gas rounds.[1]

Armament[edit]

The Heavy Riot Infantry wears thick ballistic armor and were typically equipped with Stun Batons and Wakazashi O-12 Shotguns as their main offensive weapons. Such weapons allow the Riot Infantry to operate in confined close quarters situations while protected by eight of their fellow officers carrying Heavy Riot Shields. The Mechanized platoons retain the personal weapons but employ eight Recoilless Rifles instead of the shields. They are protected by standard ballistic plate armor.[1][2]

Notes[edit]

Heavy Riot Police cannot conduct anti-'Mech attacks.

As of this writing, there is no listing for the Heavy Riot Police or its alternate "variant" in Catalyst Game Labs' official website for Battletech units, the Master Unit List.
