Manoc Suthorn was born in the Draconis Combine in the late thirtieth or early thirty-first century.

He and his wife Alexandra were married while Manoc lived in the Combine, and enjoyed a certain amount of status within Combine society. However, at some point prior to 3034, actions taken by Manoc led to the couple losing that status, and Manoc and Alexandra emigrating to the Capellan Confederation, settling on the planet Larsha.[1]
Manoc and Alexandra had a daughter, Cassiopeia "Cassie" Suthorn, and together they lived in a Combine refugee community within Kalimantan, the capital city of Larsha. Manoc joined the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces or planetary militia, reaching the rank of commander. Kalimantan was attacked on the 6th of May 3034, and the Capellan military forces in Kalimantan were ordered not to allow an evacuation, so as to prevent a panic.[1]
During the attack on Kalimantan, Manoc was killed; the Suthorn's house was destroyed by an Atlas BattleMech, that also killed a number of people and destroyed several houses in the area. The Atlas nearly killed Cassie and Alexandra, and the two were left homeless.[1]
