Tai-shu Mineo Tadashige was a senior officer within the Draconis Combine's Dieron Military District, from at least 3145 to 3152.[1][2][3]

History[edit]

Appointment as Warlord[edit]

In December 3145, the then Tai-sa Tadashige was the military aide to the commander of the Dieron Military District, Tai-sho Kambei Okamoto.[1] Following Okamoto's death in 3149, Tadashige was promoted, becoming the Warlord of the Dieron Military District.

Operation TIAMAT[edit]

In February 3150, ahead of the second wave of Operation TIAMAT, Tadashige received word from the Combine's Capellan Confederation allies that the Republic of the Sphere had successfully managed to sabotage Capellan units intended to invade the Republic. Mostly ignoring these warnings, Tadashige sent intelligence gathering raids to the Republic worlds of Asta, Altair and Fomalhaut, which indicated their defenses were light. Seeking to take advantage of the situation, Tadashige sent forces to take all three worlds, which faced little resistance except on Fomalhaut. He was not able to press further into the Republic however, as Coordinator Yori Kurita ordered an unexplained halt to Operation TIAMAT, much to Tadashige's frustration.

Redirecting his focus, and with the support of the other Warlords, in the following months Tadashige wanted to retake Robinson from the Republic and Federated Suns forces who had liberated it. He was however overruled by Matsuhari Toranaga, and required to instead seek to reinforce defenses damaged by the Republic's Operation ERUPTIO.[4]

Ashigaru Initiative[edit]

A loyalist of Gunji-no-Kanrei Matsuhari Toranaga, during 3150 Tadashige sort to support Toranaga's invasion of the Federated Suns, while resisting the orders of Coordinator Yori Kurita. He was however forced to implement Yori's 3150 Ashigaru Initiative, as the conscripts it was designed to produce, were desperately needed by his stretched District. To Tadashige's surprise, the conscription was generally accepted by citizens, as it was similar to the falling Republic of the Sphere's approach of requiring service for citizenship.[2]

Death of Matsuhari Toranaga[edit]

Following the death of Matsuhari Toranaga, in January 3152 Tadashige attended a Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery High Command on Luthien, with Coordinator Yori and his fellow Warlords. While Yori had not wanted Tadashige Warlord of Dieron, accepting his appointment due to pressure by Gunji-no-Kanrei Toranaga, the Coordinator believed she could reassert her authority with him and his colleagues now she was free of the Gunji-no-Kanrei. While during this meeting Tadashige sought to defend the loyalty of those military units which had favored Toranaga over Yori, he participated in her designs to help them recommit to her rule.[3]
