Subaltern Peter Grimes was a MechWarrior with the Concordat Commandos.[1][2]

History
Grimes commanded a recon lance in the Concordat Commandos, which comprised his Hermes, two Spiders and a Locust. His lance was, due to its speed, able to scout vast areas across his unit's line of advance. Despite his 'Mech rarity, Grimes would have preferred a more common Spider, since the unusual Hermes caused every bandit his lance engaged to try to take down the unfamiliar 'Mech.[1][2]
BattleMech
Grimes was known to pilot a Hermes BattleMech, which at the time was reputed to be the only one remaining in the Periphery.[1][2]
