Aleksandr Kerensky's Orion was a Orion BattleMech piloted by the legendary SLDF General Aleksandr Kerensky, one of the most famous 'Mechs of history.

Operational History

Despite the fact than Kerensky piloted briefly an Atlas II in combat during the New Vandenberg Uprising, his main 'Mech was his Orion.[1] He piloted his 'Mech during the last stages of Operation Liberation, though only sees combat during the assault of the Star League's capital, Unity City. There, he became a main target of the Rim Worlds Republic forces, and Kerensky was almost overwhelmed two times, being saved by his bodyguards.[2] As the tyrant Stefan Amaris wasn't found in the capital after it fell, Kerensky led his search aboard his Orion, finally finding in the Imperial Palace on the canadian wilderness. There, the 29 September of 2779, Kerensky throw the Palace's gates with his Orion, with the General's Aaron De Chevilier's Atlas following him. In the Plaace's courtyard, Aleksandr accepted Amaris surrender, puting an end to Amaris-Kerensky Civil War.[3]

Initially, Kerensky took his Orion with his fleet during Operation Exodus, at least to the Draconis Combine system of New Samarkand. There, the Orion, probably for being an old model and lack of space on the fleet, was scrapped, with most of their important parts removed or ruined, and throw to an junkyard, on an asteroid on the system.[4] There, the 'Mech remnants lay for two centuries, until being found by a kuritan rutine exploratory mission on the system led by Florimel Kurita, in a date prior to the year 3019.[5]

Technical Characteristics

ON1-K Kerensky : The personal BattleMech of Commanding General Aleksandr Kerensky during the war against the Usurper. Designers removed the LRM-15 and Autocannon/10 to make room for other equipment, adding an experimental Snub-Nose PPC in the left torso and an Artemis IV Fire Control System for the SRMs. The right torso has a Gauss Rifle in the former location of the autocannon. The medium lasers from the original model are retained. Finally, ferro-fibrous armor and CASE are used for added protection. BV (2.0) = 1,821[6]
