Description
The Semi-Portable Particle Cannon (also known as the Man-Pack Particle Cannon or M-PPC) is a man sized version of the 'Mech PPC able to fire in single-shot or burst mode. Unlike its larger cousin, at close range this weapon does not suffer from particle dispersion due to its size and power output, however it is still not small enough to be carried and fired in combat by a single man, usually requiring a crew of two and the use of a bipod mount.[6] Thanks to its semi-portable nature, it is possible for a single person to use the M-PPC by themselves, either through the use of a Gyroscopic Harness such as a Waldo unit or by wearing an Exoskeleton. The cost and size of the M-PPC makes it impractical for any but elite commando units to employ,[6][3] while the long recharge time between each shot makes it similarly unpopular.[7]
