The Skye Observer was a news outlet on the world of Skye noted for its fiery rhetoric and staunch opposition to the Archon.

Jihad

When Duchess Tamari LaRue defended Peter Steiner-Davion's decision to reintroduce the system of Archonettes in the chaos of the Jihad, she won over many with her reasoned response. The Skye Observer was not one of these groups, and laid into the Duchess, claiming that her position was a result of her being desperate for attention as an unmarried woman whose romantic prospects were fading. StarCorps observers noted this sort of extreme stance was not atypical for the publication. Readers of the publication were less than pleased with the editorial, pointing out that Duchess LaRue was not some spinster, but in fact a widow whose husband had died fighting Clan Jade Falcon. The editorial board published an apology and retraction, the first time they had done so since the FedCom Civil War.[1]

Dark Age

Skye fell to Clan Wolf in 3150. As the Wolves' propaganda arm, WolfCom, is the only official source of news inside their empire, the Observer had either ceased publication already or was shuttered by the invaders.[2]
