In late 3018, a group known as the Crimson Inclination seized control of Najha, declaring it to be independent of Draconis Combine rule. The Sixth Arkab Legion under the command of Stanislaus Rozurski was sent to liberate the system in early 3019. After the Internal Security Force found documents at one of the Inclination's safe houses revealing they had been financially supported by House Steiner Loki agents, Rozurski was tasked with setting a trap for them on Marawi to both crush the rebellion and hopefully capture the agents, luring the rebel leadership into a narrow, muddy ravine where the Sixth's BattleMech forces lay in wait.
