History
Early life
Ryder was born into a Lyran MechWarrior family.
Career
Ryder would spend time with Monk's Marauders Mercenary unit before joining the First Somerset Strikers.[1]
Ryder was recruited by Adam Steiner on the planet Dustball where he was working as a Mercenary to pay off his gambling debts. One of the conditions of his employment was the rank of Captain and command of a Lance, to which Major Steiner agreed and placed him in charge of the Medium Lance, consisting only of Ryder's own Centurion.
BattleMechs
Valten Ryder piloted his family's Centurion during the early stages of his time with the First Somerset Strikers, before receiving a prototype BSW-X1 Bushwacker.
Notes
- An apocryphal version of the Valten Ryder's Bushwacker, dubbed the High Roller, is one of the Hero 'Mechs in the MechWarrior Online video game.
