Bushwacker Lore and Blueprint is a short story by Randall N. Bills published for MechWarrior Online Legends' Hero 'Mech Lore series in MWO's public internet forum.

Canonicity

MechWarrior Online Legends as such does not fall under the current criteria for canon.

Written by Randall N. Bills, who at the time was also the incumbent mainline BattleTech Line Developer at Catalyst Game Labs, the fiction accompanying the MWO Hero 'Mechs was expressly declared fully canonical for a time. This ruling was however reversed in January 2025 through another express Line Developer ruling by Bills' successor Ray Arrastia. As a result, these short stories must therefore be considered apocryphal.

Plot Summary

The story takes place on an unmentioned world in the Tamar March of the Federated Commonwealth and narrates an engagement between Major Adam Steiner's First Somerset Strikers and Clan Jade Falcon forces led by Star Colonel Nicolai Malthus.
