Description[edit]

The Daimyo, first produced in 3053, admirably lives up to the heritage of its name. It is armed primarily for long range combat but can hold its own at closer ranges if the situation warrants it. The Daimyo's maximum speed of 86.4 km/h and its Nissan 200 fusion engine make it a rugged 'Mech that can survive an amazing amount of damage while bringing the fight to the enemy.

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The primary long range weapon on the Daimyo is a Lord's Light 2 ER PPC, which allows the 'Mech to strike at an enemy from extreme ranges. Once the 'Mech closes with its enemy, it is able to bring its close range arsenal to bear. This consists of two Victory 23R medium lasers, which are backed up by a Shannon SH-60 SRM-6 missile launcher fed by two tons of ammunition.

Variants[edit]

  • DMO-2K
An attempt to make the Daimyo a cooler running 'Mech, the 2K variant removes the ER PPC and replaces it with an ER large laser and an additional double heat sink.[1] While this does give the Daimyo a better heat profile, it also shortens the distance at which the 'Mech can strike an enemy. BV (1.0) = 928[3], BV (2.0) = 1,057[5]
  • DMO-4K
The 4K variant of the Daimyo is also an attempt to modify the 'Mech to make it more heat efficient. This variant accomplishes this by removing the SRM-6 launcher and replacing it with an additional medium laser. The saved weight is used to add four more double heat sinks, making the Daimyo's heat curve much more manageable.[1] BV (1.0) = 1,034[3], BV (2.0) = 1,150[6]
  • DMO-5K
The 5K variant comes the closest of any of the variants to living up to the 'Mech's name. The SRM-6 launcher has been removed from the 'Mech and replaced with a C3 master computer, allowing it to coordinate the actions of a C3 lance.[1] This version of the 'Mech is extremely valuable as a medium command vehicle. BV (1.0) = 955, BV (2.0) = 1,087[7]
