Academy[edit]
Dana would attend The War College of Goshen, sharing a dorm room with Elaine Masters.[1]
By 3013 Stephenson would be the commanding officer of First Battalion, Thirty-fourth Avalon Hussars. During Christmas of that year, Hanse Davion would propose to her, and Stephenson accepted his proposal.[1]
However, it was not to be. During the Battle of Halstead Station in 3014, Stephenson and Davion held out with the last of the Hussar rearguard. Fighting elements of the Ninth Dieron Regulars and the Second Proserpina Hussars, Stephenson's Enforcer was knocked down by heavy fire, at which point a Kuritan Awesome deliberately stepped on her cockpit.[1]
Stephenson's sudden and brutal demise stunned Davion, and it required timely intervention by Ardan Sortek and Ran Felsner to snap him out of his shock and encourage him to follow the retreat. Davion would mourn Stephenson's loss for years. In her memory, he had a small figurine of their last dance together made from the remains of the her Enforcer's cockpit glass with the engagement ring set in the base, which he kept in his office.[1]
