The Thorvald family was one of the original families of Scandinavian descent that settled Verthandi in the 25th century.[1]

The Thorvald family BattleMech was a Warhammer, a machine that had been handed down through the family from the days of the first Star League. It staged out of the rebel base hidden at Fox Island.[2]
