Hauptmann Ivar Karsgaard was a MechWarrior in the Third Donegal Guards, and later an instructor at the Blackjack School of Combat, during the early thirty-first century.[1]

History[edit]
During the Fourth Succession War, Karsgaard led the Lightning Company of the Third Donegal Guards, including one engagement where he was credited with 6 kills in one skirmish. His command lance worked to drive an enemy 'Mech unit into an inescapable kill-basket, destroying many.
After this war, he was transferred to the Blackjack School of Combat, in order to teach tactics and ambush strategies. He was disciplined four times during the War of 3039, once for striking his commander, due to his frustration at not being transferred back to a frontline unit for the conflict.[1]

Karsgaard piloted a Flashman BattleMech named Lightstorm.[1]
