Star Captain Matt Lossey was a Clan Nova Cat MechWarrior, and Bloodnamed warrior of the Lossey Bloodhouse, during the Dark Age Era.[1][2]

As with many Nova Cats, Lossey believed himself to receive visions which guided his actions, though somewhat unusually his came while in the heat of battle. These visions seemed to encourage him to press his attacks, as he "zoned out" from other concerns.[2]
Regardless of the truth of these visions, which Lossey claimed as key to his battlefield success, he was undoubtedly a skilled MechWarrior. During the collapse of the Republic of the Sphere, he led one of Tau Galaxy's mixed Binaries in reclaiming abandoned Republic worlds for the Draconis Combine, with its blend of OmniMechs, battle armor, and combat vehicles being highly successfully against the remaining Republic Armed Forces defenders.[1]

Lossey was known to have piloted a SCT-VP-M Shadow Cat III OmniMech, nicknamed "Sabertooth".[1][2]
