Naval Adjutant

Naval Adjutant is one of five bureaucratic positions unique to Clan Star Adder. Four were created by the Clan's founder Absalom Truscott at the Clan's inception: Naval Adjutant, Intelligence Adjutant, Logistics Adjutant, and Adder's Adjutant. Another, Defense Adjutant, was created by Khan Tomas Banacek in the 29th Century. Khan Truscott embraced the intricacies of running the Clan military and created the positions to give the warriors assigned to them a taste of the skills needed to command. Officers are routinely moved between them and are elected from a small group of frontline Cluster and Galaxy commanders. Often, the Khan finds a protégé among the group and unofficially encourages their ascension through the upper echelon of the Clan. Excepting the Adder's Adjutant, the warriors report to the saKhan.

The Naval Adjutant is responsible for all Clan Star Adder's naval assests (DropShips, JumpShips and WarShips). They assign sufficient vessels to military forces as required, as well as to civilian lower caste groups. Excess ships are mothballed or assigned to provisional formations.
