Paradise Syndrome

Paradise Syndrome was a psychological and behavioral disorder, which arose amongst the Clan Warrior Caste, during Operation REVIVAL.[1][2]

History[edit]

Following the initial capture of Inner Sphere worlds by Clan Smoke Jaguar during Operation REVIVAL, many Clan warriors who were tasked with garrisoning the captured worlds, became obsessed with the beauties and riches of the worlds they now possessed compared to the harsh Clan Homeworlds. Their covetousness resulted in a drastic increase in Trials of Possession for local landholdings, distracting the Jaguar warriors and costing many lives, as well as providing opportunities for local insurgents. In response IlKhan Leo Showers invalidated the results of the Trials, and tasked the Merchant Caste with calming the unrest by increasing employment for local laborers.[1]

Paradise Syndrome was later diagnosed amongst the warriors of Clan Wolf's First Wolf Assault Cluster, following the Refusal War, after its formerly Homeworld bound second-line troops were brought into the Inner Sphere. For the first several months after their initial deployment, and again after each time they changed station, their Star Colonel Giorgy Shaw had to contend with severe cases of Paradise Syndrome.[2]
