Ruben Avilla was a member of the Command Lance, 6th Heavy Assault Company, 82nd Heavy Cavalry Battalion, Seventy-first Light Horse Regiment of the Eridani Light Horse from at least 3025 to 3058.[2][3] He later served as executive officer for the Seventy-first Regiment as a whole.[1]

Avilla was, as of 3025, a mere MechWarrior within the 6th Heavy Assault Company's Command Lance.[2]
By 3058 however, he had been promoted to Captain, and command of the 6th Heavy Assault Company. In this role he was a part of the Eridani Light Horse's contribution to the Coventry Expeditionary Force, which fought against Clan Jade Falcon during the Battle of Coventry.
On 21 April 3058, he participated in the 82nd Heavy Cavalry Battalion's assault on the Falcon command center in Port St. William on Coventry defended by the First Striker Cluster, which ended inconclusively. The Falcons suffered far more casualties than the Light Horse units, but were able to prevent the Light Horse from achieving their primary objectives.[3]
By 3062, Avilla had been promoted to major and was serving under Colonel Sandra Barclay as executive officer for the Seventy-first Light Horse Regiment.[1]
BattleMech[edit]
Avilla was known to initially pilot, around 3025, an Orion BattleMech.[2] By 3058 however he was piloting a CP-11-A Cyclops.[3]
