Major General Sonoka Komatsuzaki was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's XII Corps as of 2764.[1]

A native of the Draconis Combine, from Galedon V, Komatsuzaki had a strict military upbringing. However after joining the SLDF, and serving as a Lieutenant in the 44th Mechanized Infantry Division, she learnt the value of an even-handed approach to command. As she rose to leadership of XII Corps, Komatsuzaki practiced granting the respect to others she expected in return, and this paid dividends in creating excellent relations with the natives in the Abbey District where her unit operated.[1]
Komatsuzaki had no patience for her troops disrespecting local populations, and imposed discipline when it occurred, up to and including courts-martial. Practical examples of this included court-martialing the CO of the 502nd Battle Regiment after poor tactical positioning resulted in the accidental deaths of 100 civilians, and granting distinguished service commendations to the 13th Royal Mechanized Infantry Division for offering humanitarian aid beyond the call of duty[2].
The good relations engendered with Abbey District nobles and corporations greatly assisted with XII Corps' logistics, with supplies being able to be procured locally at excellent prices, even from goods intended for Free Worlds League Military units in other provinces.[1]
