BA-Equipment[edit]

Could someone please compile a list of all the weaponry and equipment, that can be installed into a BA? So far, the BA-weapons (Small Laser, MG, AP Gauss, SRM, OS-SRM...) are scattered among the Mech-weapons, with no hint for their dual-use. The articles for BA-equipment (search light, stealth, improved stealth, fire-resistant armor, jump booster, boarding claw, magnet claw, vibro claw...) are entirely missing.
I'd do that myself, but as I have no official materials, I couldn't guarantee either accuracy or entirety. --Detlef 06:20, 6 February 2009 (PST)

TechManual has a fairly large list of BA-Weapons, complete with rules and stats. One of the things that I wonder about though, is the fact that one of those BA weapons (the Magshot) also appear on a number of Solaris BattleMechs. Onisuzume 07:58, 6 February 2009 (PST)

Note[edit]

This entry was quoted from Total Warfare and needs to be paraphrased or replaced. Any help in doing so would be greatly appreciated. --Revanche (admin) 18:48, 20 October 2006 (CDT)

This entry really need a cleaning ! It does the same algamate than Elemental entry. --FIVE-one 03:20, 14 December 2007 (CST)
For one thing the Elemental is not the only Clanner Battle Armour, several Clans have their own specialized models according to the MechWarrior RPG books and Funcom Clix game. The Elemental is merely the most common one in encountered and the only one used (to my knowledge) during the Invasion. You might also want to point out how maneuverable they are and how that helps against something like an Atlas. Single Elementals have been able to defeat such foes with their maneuverability. Also I'm not exactly sure if you want to put in how they completely eclipsed conventional infantry in the clans (rather apparent by the by the way old warriors with nothing better to do than die become infantry, and other expendable cannon-fodder types, and that in rules (specifically I can cite Total Warfare page 40) IS have more skilled conventional infantry).
I think the reason for that was that most of the other clan battle armours were developed during/after the invasion, so most of them would be too new to see combat during the invasion.Onisuzume 07:58, 6 February 2009 (PST)

Working[edit]

I could not bear leaving such a core page in tatters as it was, so I am working to fix this page--S.gage (talk) 15:39, 27 January 2014 (PST)

Still working.--S.gage (talk) 18:28, 27 January 2014 (PST)

Still working, but feeling a lot better about this article--S.gage (talk) 02:14, 1 February 2014 (PST)
S.gage, I removed the term "rats" from the page because I thought that it might breech the neutral point of view of sarna. Is there any specific reason that it should be kept? -BobTheZombie (talk) 15:51, 8 February 2014 (PST)
Yes, it is neutral - operatives left dead rats (animals) stuffed in the mouths of those killed during the operative purge as their calling card. If you prefer to reword this so it is less ambiguous, please feel free.--S.gage (talk) 15:53, 8 February 2014 (PST)
Ooh, okay, that makes much more sense; I was thinking along the lines of an insult, e.g. FedRats, not a literal calling card. Thanks for clarifying. -BobTheZombie (talk) 16:14, 8 February 2014 (PST)

Capitalization[edit]

Does anyone know if the name "Battle Armor" has to be capitalized, or should it be left lowercase when possible (battle armor)? It's extremely inconsistent throughout the wiki. -BobTheZombie (talk) 15:07, 30 January 2014 (PST)

I just looked at Total Warfare, and "battle armor" is not capitalized throughout the book like BattleMech, so that seems to be a pretty definitive "no". I will revise this.--S.gage (talk) 23:13, 30 January 2014 (PST)
Just looked at the BattleCorps Style Guide and it says that battle armor isn't capitalized. It also says AeroSpace Fighter is wrong; It should be aerospace fighter. I'll have to work on that.--Mbear(talk) 04:16, 31 January 2014 (PST)
Wow, well that's interesting; I'll be sure to watch for that in my travels around Sarna. Thanks! -BobTheZombie (talk) 04:43, 31 January 2014 (PST)

Does The Article Need More?[edit]

Hi, This article is far more informative than the one from before I began. However, I am undecided about another section. Taking my cue from the OmniMech article, would it be necessary to add sections about battle armor advantages and disadvantages, perhaps as a footnote to "Description"?--S.gage (talk) 16:07, 6 February 2014 (PST)

Yes, I like how much stuff you added; that gives the article a lot more to work with. About the new section, I'd have to say no, as the omnimech is a radical change from battlemechs and thus there is a lot to discuss, but BA is really only "bad" because it is slow/expensive (compared to infantry); nearly everything else is better, and that was basically covered in the article already. I don't think that it is necessary. -BobTheZombie (talk) 19:15, 6 February 2014 (PST)

"Battle Armor" disambiguation[edit]

Hi, would it be possible for someone to create a redirect of "Battle Armor" to the "Battle armor" article?

There's a bunch of CCG articles that link to "Battle Armor" and the article is redlinked.

I'd do it myself, but I think redirects require an actual login....:(

Hey Talvin, I will do it for you, but you really should just log in.--Dmon (talk) 05:28, 24 August 2022 (EDT)
I am not Talvin. For reasons that I would prefer to remain my own, I prefer to update anonymously.
Thanks for the redirect, it appears to have resolved the redlinks for the CCG articles. :) 75.23.228.139 05:50, 24 August 2022 (EDT)
