Description[edit]

The Tufana hovercraft was built initially for the Principality of Regulus' armed forces just after the Jihad. The vehicle was conceived to be used as a spotter for fire support elements of a unit. Due to its qualities, Regulans initially screen potential crew members to make sure team oriented personnel would be assigned to the Tufana, ensuring the vehicle's team doctrine was followed.[1]

The vehicle uses its TAG and Narc Missile Beacon to aid its lancemates in use of artillery and Semi-Guided LRMs. It is protected by 4.5 tons of ferro-fibrous armor, however it is the vehicle's speed that provides for most protection from enemy fire.[1]

Sales of the Tufana would expand to include former Free Worlds League, Capellan Confederation, and Magistracy of Canopus states.[1]

Weapons and Equipment[edit]

The Tufana's main offensive weapon is its turret-mounted Doombud 7-tubed multi-missile launcher. The launcher was given 4 tons of ammunition in order to give its crews various ammunition types to choose from. Also found in the turret are the TAG designator and Octagon Missile Magnet Narc Missile Beacon. The Narc beacon has been given 2 tons of ammunition.[1]

Variants[edit]

  • INarc
A requested variant introduced in 3083[3], which is highly popular with the Capellan Confederation. The vehicle's NARC launcher is swapped for an Improved NARC Missile launcher. To make room for the iNarc missiles, the vehicle's MML is swapped out for a pair of Medium Pulse Lasers. The MML's payload is entirely switched over to the iNarc, giving it room for a variety of pod types. Lastly, the vehicle has an Extended Range Small Laser mounted in the nose.[1] BV(2.0) = 756[4][3]
