Plot summary

Eleven years later, Brandon was on the family's DropShip, the Ceridwen. His father had passed soon before, leaving him as the new CEO of Mountain Wolf, and empty shell, but Brandon was determined to make what his father always dreamed: to turn it into a real pmanufacturing company. For this, he began writing messages, to answer those which he had received to give him his condolences about his father's death. Brandon proved how much had learned from his father, both about how to do business and how to don't do them: in the generic messages, he promoted the new BattleMech his company will began producing: the Merlin. In a message to the recent widow Olivia Hart, he indirectly asked her to marry him. And in his message to Ronaine Avellar, he talked her about the Merlin, offered her a succulent deal to began producing them, benefiting both, and even said her how soon will be marrying Olivia. After finishing his messages, Brandon felt very confindent, sure than he finally may had found himself a way home.
