The Star League Defense Forces 10th Army was assigned to operations within the Free Worlds League Military Region.[1]

History

The 10th Army was one of only two SLDF Armies to be commanded by an Admiral in 2765, rather than a General. Based around the Army Headquarters on Cirebon, the 10th Army was a standard model Army and was responsible for the rimward sectors of the Free Worlds League. Historically, the 10th Army had chosen not to work directly with the Free Worlds League government but rather to build a close relationship with the provincial authorities in the Principality of Regulus and the Duchy of Andurien; this proved to be a much more productive relationship, and when the 10th Army was deployed into the Magistracy of Canopus in response to the Periphery Uprising it received a considerable degree of logistical support from the Free Worlds League Military. Despite that support, the 10th would take moderate to heavy losses during the two-year campaign in the Periphery, losing 8 Divisions and 2 Independent Regiments.[2]

Prior to the Amaris Civil War the Tenth Army was dealing with the many pirates, smugglers, and other border jumpers who wanted to capitalize on the confusion of the Phony War. The Tenth was the only Army in the Free Worlds League Military Region that could respond rapidly to these conflicts, but the High Command held concerns that the four component Corps could be overwhelmed. Given that the Tenth Army had to defend the borders between the Free Worlds League, Capellan Confederation, Magistracy of Canopus, and the Periphery, these concerns were understandable. The Tenth Army worked with the 7th Fleet.[3]

Officers

In 2765 the commanding officer of the 10th Army was Admiral Agathe Feuntiaume.[2]
