History
They defended Port Moseby against DCMS-forces in 2789. The 2nd defeated the attacking Kurita forces using Firestarter-BattleMechs. However, they were destroyed later that year, when the DCMS staged a second attack against the Planet. [1] Elements of the 2nd Lyran Guards were included into the 30th Lyran Guards, which is nicknamed "Walking Hellfire" after the defunct 2nd Guards. [2]
Eventually rebuilt after its destruction on Port Moseby, the elite ranked 2nd Lyran Guards supported their then commander Leutnant-General Claudius Steiner in staging a coup to remove Melissa Nin from the Archonship in 2845. The 2nd performed a combat drop on Tharkad City, defeating elements of the defending 3rd Lyran Guards [3]
