To increase their loyalty rating, Kyp's Commando focused on improving their BattleMech assets. The Air Guard and Special Forces unit resented this, with the Air Guard nearly mutinying against their unit. Sang-shao Marloe responded by completely disbanding the Air Guard, sending some pilots to other McCarron's units, retiring them, or sending them to serve as instructors in the Capella War College.[5]
Despite these setbacks, the unit's BattleMech regiment and armor corps were at full strength. The Special Forces unit lost approximately 15% of its troops.[1]
