Algedi Blood Burn[1] was a disease descended from viral epidemics which swept Africa on Terra in the early twenty-first century, which even after immunity was built up by the impacted populations, were carried by Azami immigrants to worlds such as Algedi where it could still infect and kill people from off-world.[2]

This happened most notably in 2497, when the Draconis Combine invaded Algedi, but were defeated due to mass casualties arising from this illness.

The symptoms of Algedi Blood Burn for vulnerable individuals include death from the congealing of all the blood in the human body into a thick dry paste in under thirty minutes, blood in the extremities drying into a powder, and lesions on the body. [3]

Notes

Based on the symptoms and historical notes Algedi Blood Burn is likely a relative of Ebola.
