Anson Marik (Born ?- Died 5th June, 3138) 32nd Century leader of the Marik-Stewart Commonwealth, direct Marik bloodline heir to the throne of the House Marik & Free Worlds League. He is a direct descent of Captain General Corrine Marik.

Anson Marik was a large man, fully of anger and used his verbal abuse to clear his head to think. Using his verbal abuse to on people work out his frustrations and using "victims" as sounding boards for ideas and satisfy his need to frustrations.

He is fiery personality was well known and dreaded. He, like other nobility of the shattered Free Worlds League are in competition with each other member states for dominance in realm and to reform the League. Among highest persons anguish against, is Jessica Marik, Captain-General of the Oriente Protectorate. As she begun to expand her realm, he been forced to ally himself with rival Lester Cameron-Jones, the Captain General of the Regulan Fiefs to combine their efforts to stop her ambitions to reform the league in her name.

His greatest achievement had been the reformation of the vaulted Silver Hawk Irregulars regiment which he enabled it to outlive him after fall of his Commonwealth.

Character History

In March of 3135, he granted Christopher Halas-Hughes Marik entry into his realm to ski 20 kilometer tall mountain known as K20 on Autumn Wind.

Attended the funeral of Victor Steiner-Davion in 3135, with endless bickering with his rivals. Meeting Jessica's daughter [[|Nikol Halas-Huges Marik|Nikol Marik]] in grand ball, attempting to gauge an possible heir to Jessica's throne.

Marik begins to form his overall Strategity to shoring up his defenses against coming Lyran invasion that his agent "SnowLilly" placed in Lyran royal courts had reported. Among other things he is doing in secret if assembly new Regiment of fighters aide him in coming fight. Revealing this to his leading commanding officer. He also, secretly moves his capital from Marik to Atreus in preparation of the invasion. He leaves, General Daniella Briggs in charge of defense of Marik, using the world as trap for future Lyran invasion. His closest advisor, Cole Daggert chief tactical advisor to Anson, repeatively tried to resign from his position due to mounting failed defense of the Commonwealth. Anson, refuses every time, with explanation.

However, his old capital world of Marik is invaded in October by Clan Spirit Cats. Marik-Stewart reinforcements Anson had sent delayed by Oriente Protectorate aerospace forces. The bitter nine month conflict for Marik ends with victory in June, 3137 for Clan Spirit Cats, Clan Sea Foxes and their "allies", the Oriente Protectorate. His leading military commander, General Daniella Briggs is killed in the fighting.

In early May of 3137, Anson formally announces reformation of the Silver Hawk Irregulars. An expensive projected which he plan used the Hawks as means to implement an "Idea" in minds of the people to help them resist against enemy occupation. At Anson instructions, the Hawks trained planetary civilians and militia forces in guerilla tactics. In June, Lyran invasion hits the Commonwealth and as planned the Silver Hawk Irregulars forces seeded among the military respond.

In early 3138, he successfully bargained with Clan Sea Fox for allow Stewart to become part of Commonwealth. He and various members of Commonwealth's parliament travelled to Stewart making it Commonwealth's new capital world. Anson grows frustrated with citizens on Stewart anti-war protests they are directly at him. At one point as he arrived, his security forces were forced to tazer him and pull him back into his limo to keep from confronting dangerous protesters. He has televised conference with people of the Commonwealth in parliamentary hall of Stewart and tries rally his people to fight the Lyrans as they attempt to stay take their worlds from him. However, he meet with angry protests from his powerless prime ministers. They so loud Marik could not make what they were saying. Chief Tactical Adviser Cole Daggert has the Silver Hawk units move to Helm as plan to distract Lyran forces with Anson approval.

By May, as Lyran and now Clan Wolf forces storm Helm's capital city of Helmdown, with Silver Hawks yet again are pulled back to Stewart. Leaving only few light companies behind to fight to death against the invaders, some of the Hawk force try to surrender, but are slaughtered by Clanners. Anson, get the words of their deaths 50 to 100 personnel from which has been labeled it Helm massacre. This event shocks Anson, becomes quiet and ignores almost everyone. Daggert tries to stir him into action to rally his troops and people. Only until Dagget mentions world of Ariel has asked protection from Captain-General Jessica Marik does he stir and gives fiery response, however unlike before, its tone almost sounds out of grief. Dagget finally understands Anson, when he says that he needs Daggert (whom often tries to resign his position) he is only one whom he can trust give him straight truth. Anson inertly inspires Daggert with solution to form Victory. Anson and Daggert create new way of victory, they begin to try conceive secret plan to preserve means to save all Marik people from their Lyran oppressors and give hope for the future.

June 4th, Lyran-Wolf coalition force arrives and invades Stewart, Anson orders only few companies of the Silver Hawks should remain in the capital city of New Edinburgh. The city being surrounded by mines and militia forces dug in. Anson & Cole Daggert plan lures enemy into thinking Anson is trying to escape to near by temporary Dropship port, while in reality Silver Hawks have been secretly sent out to city of MacDonald's Dropship port and ordered escape to New Hope. Cole's plan lures the enemy into the city, trying to attack the motorcade of limos moving towards the temporary DropShip port. Leading elements of invasion force attempt to capture the motorcade while battling Silver Hawk defenders. Duke Vedet, command lance corners the motorcade to only victim of powerful explosion nearly killing the Duke. Anson yells for Cole to leave with remaining Silver Hawks.

Making a final stand in New Edinburgh palace, Anson Marik and some selected guards fought to the death to defend the palace. Anson, choosing as part of the plan remain behind and die fighting to preserve the Silver Hawks in preventing the Lyran forces to try to hunt them down and continue the war against other Marik-Stewart worlds. His last moments were covered up by Lyran government trying to cow the captured population to not resist as they had on other worlds.

Character Notes

Character possibly has heir, but no mention of his son been printed since Swords of Sedition.
