Unit Description

The Concordat Commandos was a military formation belonging to the Taurian Concordat's TDF.

Unit Insigina & Color scheme

The Unit's insigna is a five point star set on a red & green checked-field. The unit usually uses typical camouflage, however unit's painted with camo have shade red in the pattern of camo no matter what environment they are operating in.[1]

History

The Original Concordat

The Concordat Commandos were formed with graduated students from Concordat's colleges, were sent to fight Star League during the Reunification War. The unit saw extensive action during those times.[2]

Reformation & War of Independence

The were formed during the Taurian Concordat's last war for independence in last years of the original Star League in the mid-2700s. Its original members were raised from defense Battalions on the worlds of Atreus Prime and New Vallis.[3] These soldiers fought against General Kerensky expedition to put down the uprising. The unit was famed for hitting SLDF's supply depots and communication centers, wrecking havoc for SLDF invaders. The unit fought on despite taking heavy damaged until Kerensky withdrew from the Concordat to regroup organized their fight against Stephan Amaris.

The Succession Wars

The unit was reassigned to Capellan Confederation border for most of the Succession Wars. Over the centuries, the unit had clashed with House Liao forces, including elements of the St. Ives Armored Cavalry. In 3022, the unit was reassigned to the Hyades Cluster as its home garrison.[4]

Post Succession War Era

The unit did not see much action in 3030s to 3050s. The unit saw brief action in 3057, during the Operation Guerrero. Elements of the Little Richard's Panzer Brigade conducted raid, against Concordat to test its defenses. In its first action since end of the Succession Wars, 1st Battalion fought the Brigade to a standstill despite mercenary's numeric adantage and fended them off.[5]

Tactics

The unit is trained for strikes behind enemy lines. The unit typically likes striking rear areas of enemy, where supplys, repair depots and other staging areas are vulnerable being struck. A tactic Commandos enjoys using is detaching a company of forces before engaging an enemy force. After allowing enemy surround their mainbody, they have the unit that was detached to strike from behind.[8]

Game Notes

The Concordat Commandos while using the Rules Annex's Force Specific Rules from Field Manual: Periphery have the following abilities.

  • Taurian Guards Corp abilities allows controlling players choose up two either vehicles or 'Mechs they want from appropriate column (in Periphery Random Rolling Tables) prior to rolling rest of the unit.
  • Concordat Commandos - When rolling weight class of any single element ('Mech, vehicle) per lance. The player may have Half of the force start off field, by using the Off-Map Movement ability for scenario. If the player choose to use entire force on the map at start of a game, the unit may use the Overrun Combat instead.[10]
