Defender of the First Lord was a special designation given by First Lord Nicholas Cameron to the Kerensky family after Tanya Kerensky lost her life protecting him in 2604.[1]

Overview

After Sergeant Tanya Kerensky defended Nicholas against a bottle thrown by Draconis Combine Coordinator Leonard Kurita and was stabbed to death in the process, Nicholas awarded the hereditary title Defender of the First Lord to the entire Kerensky family.[2]

In addition to the prestige, this gave any member of the Kerensky family the right to attend any university or military academy within the Star League.[1]
