Gideon Braver Vandenburg

Elected Duke Gideon Braver Vandenburg (born 8. April 3006, died December 3051) was best known as the commander of the mercenary unit Blazing Aces which he created and commanded under the abbreviated name Gideon Braver unto his death.

On March 1, 3024, Gideon Braver Vandenburg left Castle Vandenburg, his father's stronghold, for an inspection of the family's holdings. Upon his return two days later he found that a Lance of BattleMechs had attacked the Castle, killed his family and stolen the Chalice of Herne along with other treasure. Evidence that suggested that House Vandenburg had worked with and then double-crossed the pirates, unconvinced the Council of Representatives chose to delay the election of a new Duke until Gideon Braver Vandenburg had reached adulthood (23 years of age) on April 8, 3029.

Temporarily disinherited, Gideon began his crusade to clear his name, find the Chalice, and regain Ander's moon. Founded the Blazing Aces on April 3024. Retrieved the missing Chalice of Herne and documents proving the conspiracy sometime before April 3029. Reached official adulthood on April 3029 and was named Duke during an election by the ruling council. Resumed his mercenary career leading the Blazing Aces despite being Duke of Ander's Moon.

Died December 3051, fighting either Clan Ghost Bear or Smoke Jaguar, currently confused possibly due to programmer error, in Crescent Hawk's Revenge. Blazing Aces destroyed in this engagement. Was piloting a Phoenix Hawk at the time.

Heir to Blazing Aces was someone named Maria... possibly his daughter? Possibly his wife, though speculation says that he married a former M16 agent named Tasha.
