Hamasaki's Hussars were a mercenary unit operating during the Third Succession War.[1][2]

History[edit]

The genesis of Hamasaki's Hussars stems from its commander Akio Hamasaki. Born into a minor noble family in the Draconis Combine, Akio Hamasaki would become an elite MechWarrior and rising star within the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery. Seemingly poised to reach the highest levels of Combine society, House Hamasaki instead fell victim to the endemic infighting of feudal politics, snuffing out Akio's prospects for advancement in the DCMS. Finding his future now too limited in the Combine, Hamasaki instead chose to become a mercenary and founded his own mercenary unit.[1]

Seeking to expand his unit's TOE, Akio Hamasaki would encounter Thaeros Eindraer and the battered remains of Drake's Grim Reapers. Where other parties were simply interested in purchasing the Grim Reaper's exceedingly rare Land Air 'Mechs, Hamasaki recognized Eindraer's desire to keep the unit together, offering a merger into the Hamasaki as its all-LAM recon focused Reaper Company.[2]
