History
The Hayes was an Avenger-class DropShip of the Lyran Commonwealth. During the sixth, seventh, and eighth battles of Hesperus II in 2853 it was carried to the Hesperus system's nadir jump point with the ancient battlecruiser LCS Invincible. The Lyran force smashed the Draconis Combine blockade force, destroying numerous DropShips, and the WarShips Wyrm and Yedo; only the WarShip Galedon II escaped.[1]
Unlike other DropShips from the Invinvible, the Hayes did not take part in the subsequent battle on 10 November that broke the blockade in close orbit over Hesperus II.[2] This suggests it may have been destroyed in the battle at the jump point.
