History[edit]

This former Capellan Confederation Armed Forces unit harbored a deep hatred for House Liao. Since the split from their home nation during the Fourth Succession War the command has worked exclusively for factions who oppose the CCAF. The Cossacks have been in St. Ives employ since 3054 and in 3060 received the very first Cossack BattleMechs from the Warlock production lines.[1] The unit split from their sister regiment Rubinsky’s Light Horse after the brutal reunion of both states in 3063. Since then the unit has worked for the Federated Suns.[2]

During Operation SOVEREIGN JUSTICE the unit conquered Necromo for the AFFS. The mercenaries engaged the defending Second Confederation Reserve Cavalry that were still on Necromo when the planet was attacked in November 3068. The Second fought to the last man against the mercenaries, but was unable to prevent the shipyards being destroyed.[3]

The command was annihilated by naval forces of the CCAF in 3069.[2]

Rank Name Command

Colonel Mikhail Khorsakhov 3067[2]
Lieutenant Colonel Sergei Krivokrasov 3069[2]

Tactics[edit]

The unit carefully observes their enemy for any mistakes, and then uses this to their advantage.[2]

A special agreement with Earthwerks Limited gives the mercs unlimited support whenever required. The entire unit can be transported with their three (Overlord-class) DropShips and their Invader-class JumpShip.[2]
