Major General Sir Lance Helmick was the commander of the Star League Defense Force's XVIII Corps from 2753 to at least 2764.[1]
History
Born on New Olympia, Helmick was a loyal son of the Free Worlds League, and dedicated his Corps role as one of its protectors.
A graduate of West Point Military Academy on Terra, he started his SLDF career in an armor platoon, before quickly rising through the ranks after showing a commitment to leading from the front. However in 2747 he was gravely injured in an explosion at an ammunition dump, which put an end to his time as a field commander.
Despite this handicap, his inspiring leadership was enough to justify a promotion to lead XVIII Corps, which he took command of in 2753.[1]
