History & Tactics[edit]

Michael Romney was the 3048 Solaris Games Grand Champion; after his retirement in 3050 he began to work for Tran Ky Bo of Starlight Stables.[1]

After winning the Solaris Games championship on the Open Class, when he retired he discovered that he enjoyed and needed to work with 'Mechs. Since joining Starlight Stables he enjoyed his work, putting his MechWarriors through hard work during the day, and partying with them on the night.[2] Notably, he mentored Bassem Dichari to reach the semi-finals in three consecutive years. In these tournaments, Dichari piloted the same Mauler that Romney had used in 3048 to win the title.[3]

BattleMechs[edit]

Romney notably won the Grand Championship in a Mauler that was one of the original Capellan Confederation prototypes. Since Starlight Stables is aligned with the Federated Suns it has been speculated that the 'Mech may have been one of the two prototypes that were salvaged by the Federated Suns on Beten Kaitos after McCarron's Armored Cavalry lost them there in 3023 during McCarron's Long March.[3]
