Formation Description
The Polar Galaxy is a Ghost Bear Dominion military formation which was created from forces absorbed from the Free Rasalhague Republic's KungsArmé. The Galaxy, like its other sister KungsArmé Galaxies, were used to garrison Dominion worlds as second line forces. The unit was notable due to some of its non-Clan members whom had not adjusted well to Clan military structure.[1]
History
Polar Galaxy's commands have dramatically different attitudes. Where the First Kavalleri rebelled against the Clan, the Second Kavalleri defended Pinnacle from Clan Ice Hellion. Unsure of how to deal with the unit, the Khans and command council reward the loyal Clusters with new and better equipment while the First Kavalleri gets poorer quality gear.
To modify the attitude of the First Kavalleri, the unit was stationed on the pro-Ghost Bear world of Orestes in 3085. The Second Kavalleri fought a Level III of the Word of Blake in 3080. They drove the Blakists from Grumium, but lost a third of their forces.[2]
Officers
As of 3076, the commanding officer of the unit was General (Galaxy Commander) Amy Findlay, assisted by Star Colonel Terje Pedersen.[1] This command team was still in place in 3085.[3]
In 3145 the commanding officer is Galaxy Commander Sjur Isakson.[4]
