Description
The Procyon is the first ProtoMech designed and built by Clan Coyote. After the destruction of Clan Smoke Jaguar, Clan Coyote was one of the first to acquire the ProtoMech technology. As part of the rearmament and development plan instituted by Khan Koga, the Clan's scientists and technicians began working on a new ProtoMech that would eventually become the Procyon. After three years of testing, the Procyon entered service.[4]
Weapons and Equipment
A pair of ER Small Lasers makes the Procyon one of the best armed ProtoMechs available. With their ammunition independence and decent range and damage potential, the standard Procyon can inflict as much damage as an Elemental.
Variants
Clan Coyote techs created several variants of the Procyon to keep their opponents off guard.
- Procyon 3
- Replaces the ER Small Lasers with a Heavy Small Laser and an LRM-3 with six reloads. BV (2.0) = 163[6]
- Procyon 4
- Mounts a Streak SRM-3 launcher and Machine Gun in place of the standard ER lasers. BV (2.0) = 182[7]
- Procyon (Quad)
- This extensive revamp of the Procyon is a new Clan Hell's Horses design. Using an advanced Quad ProtoMech chassis, it weighs six tons and carries a pair of AP Gauss Rifles supported by an SRM-2 with five reloads. Like it's bipedal cousin, it has a top speed of 96 km/h. BV (2.0) = 205[9]
- Procyon Z
- Developed by The Society this version is equipped with a Magnetic Clamp system. It's armed with a single ER Small Laser and an SRM-1 with ten reloads.[10]
Design Quirks
